Do you or do you want to grow your own produce? If you are, then proper food storage is a must if you intend to become self-sufficient. And a Groundfridge might just be the perfect storage idea for you!
The Groundfridge is designed by Dutch researcher and Weltevree founder Floris Schoonderbeek. His aspiration of providing solutions to improve people’s homes and our habitat, in general, inspired him to create a modern version of the old root cellar.
Groundfridge is made of laminated polyester. When buried in the ground, this root cellar can maintain an average temperature of 10°C, which is perfect for storing fruits, vegetables, wines, and cheeses.
The Groundfridge definitely requires ample yard area, but what’s great about this root cellar is that it’s easy to set up as well as to relocate if you need to. Its storage space is also very large as it is equivalent to 20 refrigerators!
We say it’s a great off-the-grid food storage solution for households trying to become more self-sufficient!
